Anyone can put logos on a website. Here's what ours actually mean — and how to check them yourself.
MCS certified, approved, accredited or registered?
You'll see all four written down, and said about an installer they mean the same thing. The Microgeneration Certification Scheme certifies installers through independent certification bodies (ours is NAPIT), audits them, and lists them on a public register. Dual Electrical Services is on that register for solar PV and battery storage, based in Glenrothes and working across Fife.
EV chargers are different: MCS does not cover them. For those we are an OZEV authorised installer, approved by the UK Government's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles to fit chargepoints under its grant schemes. What the grants cover →

Why it matters to you
Without MCS, you can't claim Smart Export Guarantee payments for surplus solar. Every renewable install we do qualifies.

OZEV authorised installer
Authorised by the UK Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles to install chargepoints under its EV chargepoint grant schemes. It is separate from MCS, which does not cover EV chargers.
Why it matters to you
Chargepoint grants are only paid through an authorised installer. If you rent, own and live in a flat, let homes or run a workplace, and you qualify, we claim the grant and take it off your invoice.

FAQ
Yes. The scheme's own term is "MCS certified"; approved, accredited and registered are the everyday versions and they all mean the same thing. Our certificate covers solar PV and battery storage, and you can confirm it by searching our name on the MCS register.
Search the company name in the MCS Find an Installer tool at mcscertified.com. If a company is not listed there, treat it as not certified whatever its website says; MCS's own helpdesk can confirm either way. TrustMark's register also shows which trades an installer holds MCS for.
Not on the website. The public registers above confirm our status without a number, and if you would like copies of the certificates themselves, ask and we will email them.
Yes. The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, which runs the UK Government's chargepoint grants, has authorised us to install chargepoints under its schemes. "Authorised installer" is the official term; "approved" means the same. It is separate from MCS, which does not certify EV chargers. Ask and we will send you a copy of our authorisation letter.
Energy suppliers ask for the MCS certificate (or an equivalent scheme's) before they will pay you for exported electricity under the Smart Export Guarantee. It is also the paperwork that shows the system was designed, installed and commissioned to the scheme's standards by an audited installer.
