How we handle your data.

Last updated: 21 April 2026.

This is the short version: we collect the minimum personal information we need to give you a quote, do the work, and keep our legal records straight. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with marketers, and we don't track you across the web.

What we collect

  • Contact form submissions: name, email, phone, postcode, service interest, and message.
  • Job records: address, job photos, installation details, invoices — kept for accreditation audits and warranty claims.
  • Site analytics: anonymous page visits via Plausible (no cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking).

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, to deliver the work we've been paid for, and to meet our legal and accreditation obligations (MCS, NAPIT, TrustMark all require us to keep job records for a minimum period).

How long we keep it

  • Unsuccessful enquiries: 12 months, then deleted.
  • Completed jobs: 6 years (HMRC requirement) plus warranty period.
  • Accreditation records: for as long as the certification body requires.

Who we share it with

No one, except where legally required or necessary to do the work: the DNO (your local network operator) for solar and EV installs, your energy supplier for SEG applications, our accreditation bodies for audit, and HMRC for tax. We never share data for marketing.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to see what we hold on you, correct it, or delete it (where we're not legally required to keep it). Email solar@dualelectricalservices.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We don't use cookies. Our analytics tool (Plausible) is cookieless and GDPR-compliant by design.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your data, tell us first — we'd rather fix it than not know about it. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
